Chocolate Caramel & Walnut Cake

This picture was taken in a hurry as I was happily able to whip this up at the last minute, just in time to take it to a friends house for dinner! This is rich but something that you crave! This was fun to create! It is VERY important to let this cool all the way down before you take it out of the pan, otherwise it will stick to the pan.
You can use any type of cake pan.

What you need from bottom to top!

  • 1 Box of German Chocolate Cake {Don't hate me, I cheated}
  • 1  14oz. pckg Caramels
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 3/4 c. Butter or Margarine, cubed
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 1 c. Chopped Walnuts
  • 1pckg Mini Chocolate Chips
  • 3oz. Chocolate [almond bark]
  • 1 Handful Whole Walnuts
Make cake mix as directed, add vanilla and mix. Grease your bunt or another favorite pan. Pour only half the cake batter into the pan and back for 18 minutes @ 350.  Meanwhile, in a large sauce pan add caramel, butter and milk. Cook and stir constantly. Pour over the warm cake. Add walnuts and chocolate chips and pour the remaining batter on  top of the walnut,chip mix. Bake for 35-45 minutes depending on your oven, checking on the cake starting at 30 minutes and every 5 minutes until done. Let it cool ALL the way! Remove from pan and brush off any crumbs. Melt 3oz. Chocolate, drizzle on the cake. Careful decorate with whole walnuts. Serve and Enjoy!
