Delicious Salad

Thanksgiving is over. Some of you, like my friend Ginny- was able to contain herself. I however didn't :/. I mean I indulged in the Thanksgiving flavors for 3 straight days!

As some of you know, I have Lyme Disease and with this came adrenal and thyroid issues. So it takes forever (not exaggerating) to lose a pound and a meal to gain it back. 

So, clean and detoxing foods and drinks are to the rescue! 

Ingredients: 
•Romaine Lettuce (or your favorite)
•Black beans 
•Banana Peppers
•Very Few Croutons 
•Lemon or Lime Juice
•Pimentos 
•Bacon Bits
•Flax Meal
•Pecans (choice of nut) 
•Halved/Fried Bacon
•Dressing of choice

Chop lettuce, add first 4 ingredients (after lettuce of choice) , toss. Top 'evenly' with Pecans,BB,Flax Meal, Pimentos, Bacon (1 sliced in half). To be sure you get the accurate serving size for the dressing. Pour onto a tablespoon and drizzle the ss per the label. 

Then, for added benefit. Take a half of an avocado, slice, salt and pepper to taste and enjoy this array of flavors that will both satisfy your pallet and get your defeat ice tract moving again. 

I know this list of ingredients look pricey. But I promise I didn't spend a lot.

Banana peppers and Pimentos I got from the dollar store (yes, indeed we did!). Flax meal was $5 for 3lbs. Black beans were $1. Dressing was on sale for $1.49. Lettuce $1.99. Had pecans left over from thanksgiving. So all in all? 8 servings cost about $8.50 including avocado! Not too shabby!

P.S - of you struggle with thyroid and adrenal problems - pumpkin seeds, pine, brazil, walnuts are amazing foods to boost it. Also, cup your hands and give your adrenals 3 good taps twice a day. And another things that helps is dry scrubbing toward the heart to get things going as well! It works!
